1. Overview

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website and services provided by TheBinderWhoLived (“I”, “me”, “my”). By placing an order or using this site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

 

2. Handmade, Made-to-Order Products

All rebinds are handmade and made to order.

  • Minor variations and small imperfections are a natural part of the handmade process and are not considered defects.
  • Product photos are examples and may show one specific copy; materials, colours, and finishes may vary slightly between copies and batches.

 

 

3. Orders & Payment

  • All prices are listed clearly on each product and are subject to change at any time.
  • Payment is due at the time of order. Orders are not started until payment has been received.
  • I reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order (for example, in cases of suspected fraud, clear pricing errors, or where I cannot reasonably fulfil the order). If an order is cancelled by me, you will receive a refund for any amount already paid.

 

 

4. No Returns, Refunds, or Cancellations

All rebinds and binds are made to order. For this reason, I do not accept returns, refunds, or order cancellations once your order has been placed.

If your item arrives damaged or with a clear fault in craftsmanship, please contact me within 3 days of delivery with photos so I can assess the issue and discuss a solution.

 

 

5. Shipping & Delivery

  • Shipping costs, methods, and estimated timeframes will be shown at checkout.
  • Delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by customs, postal delays, strikes, or other factors beyond my control.
  • Any customs fees, import duties, or local taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • Risk of loss passes to you once the order has been handed over to the postal or courier service.

 

 

6. Intellectual Property

  • My rebinds are custom covers created for existing books. I am not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the original authors, publishers, or rights holders.
  • All original literary content remains the property of its respective rights holders. Our services relate solely to the design and creation of new handcrafted covers.

 

 

7. Personalisation & Custom Work

If your order includes personalisation (personal messages, chosen quotes, etc.):

  • Please double-check all spelling and details before placing your order.
  • I am not responsible for errors supplied by the customer.

For fully custom commissions, additional terms may be agreed in writing (for example, timelines, design approvals, and payment schedules). Those will apply alongside these general Terms.

 

 

8. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Your continued use of the site or placing further orders after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
